the thing about yard games... MIVE Game Day!
I wish I could play basketball in the rain and not get wet.* Wouldn't that be something? The thing is you can't get a handle on the ball, and you slip on the wet pavement. It's really hard and not fun.
I also wish the crazy west siders lived a lot closer, we could hang out everyday, we could play yard games and barbeque all summer long, in the winter we could all hang out in Micah's basement and eat really really good grilled cheese sandwiches, and in the spring we could all ride bikes together, wouldn't that be something? But that bit about yard games and barbeque just there, i wish we could do that especially.
The thing about yard games is they're a lot of fun and there's so many different kinds. There's baggo, ladder ball, bocce ball, horse shoes, and frisbee just to name a few. Then theres my all time favorite: kickball.** I wish we could like, have a yard games olympics or something. Now that would be something.
So as it turns out, everyone owes Stevo a big kiss because he's organized just that - an east vs. west yard game showdown. We're meeting half way in Lansing*** at the Fitzgerald Park. It's scheduled for the last Saturday of this month (July 31st), so for those of you that work weekends, make sure you get the day off or call in sick at the last minute. And I don't want to hear any excuses about the drive being to long, this is a freakin' car club for crying out loud - drive, borrow your moms mini van and carpool, take the bus, just be there.
*Hello Nasty, where've you been? **I realize kickball isn't really a "yard" game, it's more of a baseball diamond game. ***Lansing is the state capitol of Michigan, how cool!

Happy 4th of July Everyone
We’d like to be the first to wish you all a happy 4th of July. And (excited!), because this post will probably hang out for a while on the front page we’re pumped to continue wishing you a very happy 4th of July.
In addition to celebrating our nation’s independence, 4th of July week is special for Michiganvw.org; we’ll be marking our 23rd year of independence from the Vortex regional forums (that may or may not be true.) So, join us in celebrating, blow something up, have a barbeque, invite some friends over, spend time with family, try not to get too sun burnt, go on a road trip, try the potato salad, drink responsibly, and above all – have fun!
